Overview
Federer continues his quest for a first title this season, as he aims to reach his 14th Gerry Weber Open quarter final on Thursday. The World Number three opened his campaign with a win beating Jan-Lennard Struff 6-4, 7-6 (3) to reach the second round of the event, winning 33 out of 35 first serve points and firing in 11 aces.
This is the longest the Swiss maestro has gone without capturing an ATP World Tour title since he went title-less in 2000, but judging by the way he played in the first round at Halle, he will surely be the favourite to win the title.
Jaziri, on the other hand, has predominantly competed in the Challenger Tour and comes into this clash after cruising past Ricardas Berankis in straight sets in the first round. Ranked 64 in the world, Jaziri has won only six matches on grass in his career and is not expected to add to that number against Federer on 16 June.
