Rolf Harris drops appeal against sexual assault convictions
Rolf Harris has given up attempts to overturn a string of child sex abuse convictions.
Harris, 84, has run out of time to mount an appeal against 12 convictions on four girls, according to legal authorities.
An initial appeal he made in October was rejected by a court of appeal judge. A spokesman for the Judicial Office said: "He is now out of time."
Since being jailed, Harris has been involved in a brawl in a common area in HMP Bullingdon and had his art tools confiscated over health and safety fears by the prison authorities.
He was moved to HMP Stafford for his own safety in late October.
Paedophile Harris was jailed for five years and nine months in July for the sexual assaults which took place between 1968 and 1986.
One of the victims was a friend of his daughter who was attacked while on holiday with the family.
His trial heard other women report they were abused in destinations including Malta, New Zealand and Australia.
