Romelu Lukaku Yet to Hold Talks Over Chelsea Future
Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has hinted his future could lie away from Stamford Bridge after admitting he is yet to hold talks with manager Jose Mourinho regarding next season.
Lukaku's Belgium were knocked out of the World Cup in the quarter-finals by Argentina, meaning the 21 year old can now turn attention to his uncertain club future.
After successive loan spells at West Bromwich Albion and Everton, which have produced 33 goals across two seasons, Chelsea have seemingly provided an indication over the youngster's future by clinching the signing of Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid.
Samuel Eto'o has left the club while the future of Demba Ba and Fernando Torres looks bleak, but Lukaku's future appears equally unclear, having yet to speak with Chelsea manager Mourinho over his future involvement.
"No, not yet [had talks with Chelsea]," Lukaku said. "It depends what is the best for me, where the most ambition is and where is the best place for me to develop.
"I'm 21 but I think I'm experienced enough now. I've played a lot of games and scored a lot of goals and now I want to win titles and become one of the best."
Having seemingly been set to play a central role for Chelsea last season, Lukaku was sent on loan to Goodison Park last September, and made an immediate impact while Mourinho's trio of strikers misfired during a trophy-less campaign in west London.
The ex-Anderlecht forward has been linked with moves to Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur after staring in the Premier League during the past two campaigns, and Lukaku admits he has "ideas" over where he next move might take him.
"I have a few ideas but we'll see. I have to have discussions first and have to think about it. I want to go home and then I will decide. It will be soon," Lukaku added.
"I want to go on holiday first and rest with my parents and then we will see. I want to be somewhere where I can play my best football and hopefully win titles. It's up to me to work hard but there are choices to make.
"Things like that happen in football and I'm confident I will make the right choice. I'm looking at everything but first of all I want to go on holiday and relax a little bit."
