Samsung Loses Second Mobile Technology Patent Case Against Apple
The Samsung Group has lost another mobile technology patent case against Apple, the second courtroom defeat for the South Korean firm in of a week.
The court in Germany rejected Samsung's lawsuit on a 3G mobile technology case and came in the aftermath of Apple's allegations that the South Korean company copied design elements of the iPad and the iPhone. Samsung counter-sued Apple over various wireless mobile technology patent violations, leading to a global legal battle between the two corporate giants.
Samsung lost a court ruling on the iPhone 4S ban in Italy. In the wake of the rulings, the company expressed its concerns: "We are disappointed that the court did not share our views regarding the infringement by Apple of this specific patent. We will wait for the written grounds of today's judgment, and after thorough review make a decision about a possible appeal."
Still to come is a decision by the Dusseldorf Appeals Court over the revamped design of Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1.
