Samsung confirms Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Galaxy S4, Note 2 and Note 3
The internet is abuzz with news of the unofficial confirmation of the Lollipop release for a bunch of Galaxy devices including the Note 2, Note 3 and Galaxy S4, as the information leaked online via Samsung's Finnish website.
The icing on the cake comes in the form of another important confirmation from the same website, wherein the Galaxy S5 mini has been listed as the next contender to receive the latest iteration of Android onboard.
Although Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy S4 are the other two autonomous contenders that are confirmed to get the Android 5.0 update, the Note 2 seems to be the biggest surprise in terms of favouring Lollipop support as it has already crossed the support cycle limitations for a two-year-old device.
Quite strangely, there is no information about the status of the Lollipop update for the Galaxy S5, while its mini version is already in the waiting list to receive Google's newest Android platform.
As this information comes from a viable source, it cannot be dismissed as some lame rumour. At the same time, it is not clear if the leaked information is some kind of mistake on Samsung's part or an unofficial confirmation to console its restless fans.
On the contrary, Samsung might have taken a U-turn to redefine its support policies for older devices and reinstate the faith of its loyal user base.
