Samsung Galaxy Note Stylus Pen being redesigned to double as a stand?
Samsung Galaxy Note Stylus Pen (S Pen), which has improved over the years, could now get dual functionality both as a stylus and a mobile/tablet stand. The South Korean company filed a patent with the US Patent & Trademark Office, which was published earlier in the year, revealing a possible design twist to the Galaxy Note Pen.
Patently Mobile, which studied the patent, says the Galaxy Note S Pen in the near future could be used as a stand for a device and perform multiple functions that are part and parcel of the stylus. The S Pen will have a small hinge in its centre that will allow it to be folded almost in half.
Stands have become very popular among Galaxy Note and Tablet users as it comes handy for watching videos, movies etc. Many retail accessory manufacturers have managed to provide this feature while making cases for Galaxy Notes. The said feature if incorporated in future will be a much needed practical upgrade.
Recently, one of Samsung's developer pages revealed that the upcoming Android 7.0 or Android N may also get stock stylus support by the OS. This means that developers working on future Samsung devices with S Pens will not need to use Samsung's Look Application Program Interface (API) to enable support.
