Samsung Gear Fit 2 and IconX wireless earbuds appear in leaked photos
Samsung is working on the sequel to its fitness tracking band Gear Fit and a pair of wireless Bluetooth earbuds, suggest a series of leaked photos. The upcoming fitness tracker is dubbed Gear Fit 2 and the earbuds as Gear IconX.
The Gear Fit 2 will replace the current version that was released in 2014 and featured a 1.84in curved Super AMOLED display. The Gear Fit is Samsung's first fitness wristband, whose successor is expected to be slightly more curved and ergonomic. Another key feature of the Fit 2 is the GPS chipset, meant to improve the accuracy of the distance-tracking features.
Apart from these, not much information is available about the wristband. In terms of pricing, the Gear Fit 2 could come with a similar pricing like the Gear Fit, which is available at $149.99 (£103). The leaked photos were first posted by Venture Beat, which claims to have obtained information from a person who is currently testing these products.
The Gear Fit runs on Samsung OS and uses a battery of 210mAh battery, which lasts for at least 3 to 4 days under normal usage. It is powered with a 160MHz processor and supports Bluetooth v4.0. Besides, it also supports different types of sensors such as HR sensor, accelerometer and gyro sensor.
Samsung trademarked the Bluetooth earbuds in February 2016. The earbuds, which are completely wireless, are dust and water resistant and come in a charging case. The IconX buds are expected to function very much like the Gear Circle.
