Samsung 'plans' to launch 10-inch Galaxy Tab 5
Samsung, which is reported to be gearing up to launch its Galaxy S6 flagship smartphone early next year, is now said to be working on a high-end tablet.
According to a TechTastic report that quotes Zauba (an Indian import-export webportal), Samsung will launch a 10in Galaxy Tab 5 (bearing model number SM-T555) priced at $354 (£228).
According to the report, the device will run the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) operating system out of the box, and the tablet is also expected to incorporate the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 64-bit processor.
Along with the Samsung SM-TSS Galaxy Tab 5 device, details regarding yet another Samsung tablet have surfaced via a Geekbench report.
According to this report, Samsung is developing a new tablet bearing model number SM-T116; various technical specifications of the device have surfaced.
The SM-T116 will run on the Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system, and the unit will be driven by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor.
The tablet will reportedly have 1GB RAM, and going by the leaked technical specifications, the device seems to be an entry-level gadget.
Apart from the tablets, Samsung is reportedly developing a new 5.5in high-end smartphone (model number SM-G430) to offset the failure of its Galaxy S5 flagship handset.
It is expected to incorporate the following key hardware features:
- 5.5in display having a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels
- Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating platform; out of the box
- 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor
