Scotland: Glenochil Prison Guard 'Required 50 Stitches' after Inmate Slashed Face with Blade
A guard at Glenochil prison reportedly required 50 stitches to his face after an inmate slashed him with a blade.
Police in Scotland are investigating after two prison guards were attacked by an inmate with a knife at HMP Glenochil, near Tullibody in central Scotland.
The guards were treated in hospital, one for serious facial injuries, following the attack at the jail on 29 October.
A source told the Daily Record that one of the officers had only just started working at the prison, which holds low to high risk category offenders, before he was slashed in the face.
Police attended the jail at around 8.30pm and it is understood a suspect has been identified.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Officers in Forth Valley division are investigating following two assaults within Glenochil Prison on Wednesday. Officers are following a positive line of inquiry."
