Scotland: M74 closure causes massive delays after huge tanker fire on motorway

A tanker carrying ethanol caught fire earlier today causing massive delays on the M74 in South Lanarkshire.
Queues of up to nine miles are being reported on the motorway as a result of the fire which happened this morning near Lesmahagow. Police and fire service were called to the scene close to junction 10 at about 10.30am.

No injuries have been reported.
The motorway remains closed in both directions between junctions 9 and 12 while emergency services extinguish the flames. Diversions are currently in place. A specialist recovery unit is at the scene.
