Seattle: Police officers stop speeding car and end up helping to deliver baby
Seattle police officers were up for a surprise when they asked a speeding car to pull over after it had run a red light.
In the dash cam video, uploaded to the police department's website, a police officer can be seen approaching the car when the driver begs the office to let him go because his wife is in labour and he is rushing her to hospital. The police officer then calls an ambulance as a quicker way to get the family the care they needed.
But the baby did not wait for the ambulance to arrive and the woman can be heard giving birth in the car with the police officers offering support. They also help when the baby appears to have problems breathing. Eventually, the ambulance turns up at the scene and Seattle police reports on its website that the family is doing well.
