Is Selena Gomez ready to date? Songstress 'flattered' Niall Horan wants to romance her again
Horan had said in an interview that he would like to 'sort it out' with Gomez.
Selena Gomez is reportedly "flattered" that Niall Horan wants to date her again. But, the Same Old Love hitmaker is least bothered about dating right now as she has been told not to get involved in serious relationships as part of her recovery from "mental health" issues.
According to HollywoodLife, the 24-year-old singer is not interested in dating right now and wants to spend some quality time with close friends.
"Selena is flattered by what Niall had to say to Ryan [Seacrest], but part of her recovery involves no serious relationships," a source told the gossip site. "In fact, for the time being she's been advised not to date. Plus, dating is pretty much the last thing on her mind now. She is focused on herself and spending time with close friends."
The One Direction singer had shocked listeners when he sat down for a chat with Ryan Seacrest on Los Angeles' 102.7 KISS-FM on 30 November and talked about rekindling his romance with the songstress. The 23-year-old singer revealed that it had been a year since his last relationship and that he would like to "sort it out" with Gomez. But Horan added that he would "prefer" staying single for now.
In October, Us Weekly reported that Gomez had entered a rehab facility in Tennessee after taking a break from the limelight to focus on her health. Sources allegedly told the celebrity news website that Gomez, who cancelled her revival tour mid-way to deal with the side-effects of lupus, was seeking professional help to "focus on her mental health".
"Selena is dealing with lupus, but this break is to focus on her mental health," a source previously told Us Weekly. "She can go to a very dark place."
Gomez made her first public appearance after taking a career break at the 2016 American Music Awards, where she thanked her fans for all their support during the difficult period in her life.
"Thank you guys so much," Gomez said and admitted she was "broken inside" because of "anxiety, panic attacks and depression".
"I have to say thank you so much to my fans, because you guys are so damn loyal, and I don't know what I did to deserve you. But if you are broken, you do not have to stay broken. That's one thing you should know about me: I care about people. And this is for you," she said.
