Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift to walk the red carpet at Met Gala 2016

Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris might well be the paparazzi-favourite couple at the moment, but the Blank Space singer will not be attending the 2016 Met Gala with her DJ boyfriend. Long-time friend Selena Gomez has said that the two BFFs will be walking the Met Gala red carpet hand-in-hand!

The 23-year-old singer told Access Hollywood: "[Taylor and I] are going with each other. It's so fun, it's going to be the best. It's kind of like prom for fashion."

The singers, who are a part of the much-talked Taylor squad, seem to be giving a miss to the boys for the coveted fashion event and be each other's dates for the gala to be held on 2 May. The two singers had made an appearance together at the Grammys in February. While the girl gang gets all powered up for the fashion event themed, Manus X Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology, Gomez refused to reveal the designers they would be donning on the red carpet of the fundraising gala.

"I don't want to get in trouble, (but) it's beautiful and it's so cool," the Heart Wants What It Wants hitmaker said.

At the Grammy's when 26-year-old Swift won an award for Album of The Year, Best Pop Album for 1989, and Best Music Video for Bad Blood; Gomez was seen shedding tears of joy. And it seems like Swift turned to her BFF for support this time again, as she is set to co-chair the Met Gala 2016 along with Idris Elba, Anna Wintour and Jonathan Ive.
