Serena Williams pregnancy cravings stuns fans: 'That baby is going to come out with Popeye muscles'
Tennis champion's fiance Alexis Ohanian made late night supermarket dash to satisfy her needs.
She is a 23-time grand slam winner, who triumphed at the Australian Open while three months pregnant, so it's safe to say that Serena Williams is cut from a different cloth. The tennis champion's fiance, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, has revealed her pregnancy cravings – and take it this way, there's no ice cream on the list.
On Friday (19 August) he dashed to the supermarket after Williams' late-night cravings started kicking in, documenting his trip to fans.
In a video posted to his Instagram, he told his followers exactly what the mother of his unborn child had sent him to get at ungodly hours.
"It's Friday night, I'm at Publix, going shopping 'cause my fiancé has cravings. I was told there would be cravings. I was not told they would be these" he says in the video, as he reveals the bag of vegetables.
While many pregnant women indulge their sweet tooth with bizarre concoctions like gherkins dipped in cholate sauce, William's was crazing her greens.
"Zucchini, asparagus and...what's this one called again? Artichoke. There we go. Really?? There are her cravings. It's amazing," he added.
Fans couldn't hold back their surprise. "Haha...only the pro athlete," one follower said while another added: "That baby is going to come out with Popeye muscles"
A third claimed that they felt inferior to the sports star writing: "Athlete's craving > regular human craving."
Ohanian's video also encouraged others to share their experience with one mother writing: "I craved hot lamb madras, Hawaiian pizza, and frozen yogurt with my first pregnancy. I scraped the ice from the freezer with my second pregnancy......tasted like heaven on a spoon."
The 35-year-old's athlete and Ohanian are expecting their first child in early September, but are leaving the sex as a surprise for the delivery room.
Ohanian's supermarket trip came days after Williams reveals plans to compete in next year's Australian Open – just four months after she is due to give birth to her first child. "It's the most outrageous plan," she told Vogue. "I just want to put that out there. That's, like, three months after I give birth. I'm not walking anything back, but I'm just saying it's pretty intense.
She added: "In this game you can go dark fast. If I lose, and I lose again, it's like, she's done. Especially since I'm not 20 years old. I'll tell you this much: I won't win less. Either I win, or I don't play."
