Shadow Complex Remastered for PC spotted on PEGI ratings board
European ratings board PEGI has outed a remaster of Epic Games' highly regarded Xbox Live Arcade classic Shadow Complex, which looks set for release on PC. The listing notes a release date of 2 December but that may well just be the date of the listing.
This is the first we have heard of a remaster of the fan-favourite Metroidvania-style action game first released in 2009 to wide acclaim. For years, fans have wanted a follow-up and this may be one way it eventually happens. You cans see the listing here.
PEGI listings are typically good indicators in cases such as this, so it is likely the game is real. Quite when we will hear about it through official channels though remains to be seen.
Shadow Complex was one of the key releases during the glory days of the Xbox Live Arcade, which also saw the release of Limbo, Braid, Castle Crashers and Bastion. It is a 2.5D side-scrolling shooter with exploration elements that was only ever released on Xbox 360.
A sequel did not happen but this development will lead to calls for, at the very least, a remaster for current consoles, if not a fully fledged follow-up. The game is available on Xbox One however through backwards compatibility.
