Shahrukh Khan to Host Big Boss Season 8 After Salman Khan 'Kicks' the Controversial Show?
The rivalry between Bollywood superstars Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan may take a new turn as rumour mills are abuzz that the Kick star is opting out of Season 8 of Big Boss, the Indian version of the controversial reality show Big Brother.
The Dabangg star is reportedly 'done' with the hugely popular, yet controversial, reality show and has declined to host it, India TV news reported.
The grapevine has it that the King of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan has been approached to step into Salman Khan's shoes.
The Ek Tha Tiger star has reportedly rejected the offer to host the biggest Indian reality show after he was accused of bias in the last season of the reality series.
The India TV News report reads:
"The last season, Bigg Boss 7 turned out to be a bit more controversial when Salman was criticized openly by the audience for favouring Tanishaa Mukherji during the show. Following which, the actor even showed disinterest in hosting the show anymore."
However, TV network Colours, which airs the show, is yet to confirm Salman's exit from Big Boss.
Earlier, there were reports that Barfee star Ranbir Kapoor may host the reality show, where strangers stay under one roof with multiple cameras watching over them 24/7.
SRK had previously taken Big B Amitabh Bachchan's place in hosting the Kaun Banega Crorepati show, the Indian version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire.
Shahrukh has faced flak for his hosting skills while Salman Khan's presence in Big Boss attracted a huge viewership.
It will be interesting to see how Shahrukh will fare as the show's host and how viewers will accept him considering they will be missing Salman's larger-than-life presence.
Salman Khan is currently busy with his upcoming Eid release Kick, which is an action thriller. He is playing a masked super thief in the movie which is expected to break box office records.
The Chennei Express star on the other hand is busy filming his comedy drama Happy New Year which will release in India during Diwali, the festival of lights.
Both the superstars are planning an extensive promotion of their respective movies to make them the biggest blockbusters of the Indian movie industry.
