Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan Rivalry: Both Stars Want Same Release Date for Their New Films?
Looks like the famous Bollywood rivalry between Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan will come into play again during the release of the actors' next big films in 2015.
Both SRK and Salman are working with the premiere Bollywood production house – Yashraj Films for their next films – Fan and Bajrangi Bhaijaan respectively. And as per reports, both stars are vying for the same release date for their films which is around Eid 2015.
According to a leading daily, the YRF wanted to book the Eid date next year for SRK's Fan, which is helmed by director Maneesh Sharma. However, it has also been learnt that the makers of Bajrangi Bhaijaan had already set their eyes on the auspicious Eid slot, which is considered to be lucky for Salman, reports Zee News.
Even though Salman Khan has previously occupied the Eid festival slot as a release time for his films, SRK's last big hit Chennai Express was an Eid release.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan is directed by filmmaker Kabir Khan who earlier helmed Salman's Ek Tha Tiger – one of the biggest hits of the star's career whereas Fan will be a first-time collaboration between director Maneesh Sharma (Band Baaja Baraat) and SRK.
Now it remains to be seen who blinks first and lets go of the coveted Eid day release slot. Most probably, it could be SRK who might want a Diwali 2015 release for his film, which is usually the norm. Even this year, Salman's Kick was released on Eid and SRK's upcoming film Happy New Year is slated to be released on Diwali.
