Shakira now has her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, becoming the first Colombian to do so.
The Grammy-winning, multi-million selling singer unveiled her pavement star in front of the W Hollywood Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard on Tuesday.
It was the 2,454th star dedicated along Hollywood's avenue of dreams.
"I would like to dedicate this to the Latin community in the U.S., a community that restlessly works and dreams and dreams and works every day to make this a better country," said the singer to fans gathered on the iconic Hollywood Blvd. sidewalk to see the singer unveil her star.
As well as winning two Grammys and having the biggest selling single of the 21<sup>st century for her song Hips Don't Lie, Shakira has also raised millions of dollars to fight poverty and provide education for the poor through her Pies Descalzos Foundation.
Shakira's latest album, "Sale el Sol" is nominated at the upcoming 2011 Latin Grammy Awards in Las Vegas on November 10.
