Shakira Pregnancy News: Hips Don't Lie Singer Displays Baby Bump at Her Father's Book Release In Spain [PHOTOS]

Colombian singer Shakira displayed her growing baby bump as she attended the presentation of the book Al Viento y al Azar (The Wind and Random) by her father, writer and journalist William Mebarak Chadid in Barcelona.

The 35-year-old looked elegant in a black short-sleeved sequined top, black jeans and black heels and was accompanied by her boyfriend, FC Barcelona player Gerard Pique, mother Nidia Ripoll and brother Tonino. The Hips Don't Lie singer supported her father Mebarak and said that he was her "weakness".

"In Barranquilla my dad isn't Shakira's father but rather I'm the daughter of William, and he's the best father life could possibly have given me. My cornerstone, my best friend, not only in my career but in my life," she said.

The mother-to-be is also taking parenthood advice from her father.

"But since I can't predict if my little one will come with more advantages or more burdens into this world, and I'm on the threshold of motherhood, I hope the child takes an example from its grandpa, because my dad is a person who always helps settle those little conflicts and that's one reason I'm so proud of him," Shakira added.

Last month, Pique pulled a prank on fans in Twitter about the birth of their child in commemoration of Dia de los Innocentes, or the Day of the Holy Innocentes, Spain's version of April Fool's Day.

Shakira had previously revealed that the baby was going to be a boy and Colombian magazine Gente is believed to have uncovered the proposed name of the celebrity child - Ulicito.

Shakira and Pique, a Spanish international, met when he featured in a music video for the theme song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Pique, who is 10 years younger, confirmed their relationship in March last year, with a Facebook post and photograph of the two. Rumours the singer was pregnant followed about a year later (in June) and were strengthened after the two were seen shopping for maternity clothes in Miami.

Shakira previously dated Antonio de La Rua, the son of former Argentine president Fernando de la Rua, for eleven years.
