'Shame, shame, shame': Game Of Thrones fans furious as HBO site crashes during season 7 premiere
The seven-episode long penultimate season paves way for the eighth and the final season of GOT.
Sunday marked the 'HBO Go and chill' kind of a day for die-hard Game of Thrones fans waiting to watch the premiere episode of season 7 on 16 July. But looks like, for some loyalists winter is arriving late as the channel's streaming service crashed right in the middle of the season 7 premiere.
And like always, fans frustrated with the technical issues on HBO's streaming website took to their favourite medium – Twitter – to rant.
"Raise your hand if you have ever been personally victimized by HBO Go #HBOGO #GameOfThones #GoT," one Twitter user complained.
"You had one job #HBOGO, one job we are a few hours away from #GoTS7 premiere and you are down already! Fix the servers!" another furious viewer tweeted. From furious messages to hilarious memes, Twitterverse rightfully exploded with the range of fan reactions.
"#HBOGO is the first death of season Seven #got #gameofthrones #season7".
"Shame. Shame. Shame. #HBOGO is not working #GameOfThrones."
"We all know that #WinterHasCome but just a reminder to all to be courteous to those who have to wait until 10 to watch on HBOgo. No spoilers".
"I'm saying a prayer for you, HBO Go server tech team. You can do it."
After a successful six-season long run, Game Of Thrones finally returned with the tale of Westeros this Sunday on HBO and on various other streaming channels. Following the dramatic turn of events last season – the Battle of the Bastards – the seventh edition is supposed to pave the path for a quick narration.
Daenerys Targaryen is headed towards the seven kingdoms with her army of unsullied while Jon Snow takes on the North. With the plot set for some much-anticipated unions, season 7 leads the way into the final season of the hit HBO series next year.
