Sian Blake murder: Arthur Simpson-Kent arrested on suspicion of murdering EastEnders actress and children
A man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of former EastEnders actress Sian Blake and her two children. Arthur Simpson-Kent was detained by Metropolitan police officers at Heathrow airport after agreeing to be extradited from Ghana.
The bodies of Blake, 43, and her sons Zachary, eight, and Amon, four, were found buried at their home in Erith, south-east London on 5 January more than three weeks after they were went missing, sparking an international manhunt for the Simpson-Kent.
He fled the country after the trio were reported missing. The 48-year-old was apprehended in the coastal town of Takoradi on 10 January and appeared before Kaneshie magistrates' court in Accra.
Following his arrest, he is currently in police custody at a west London police station.
Met Police is under investigation for the way it handled the missing persons inquiry, including why it took more than three weeks to find the bodies. The back garden of the family home house was only thoroughly searched in early January after murder squad detectives were called in.
Blake played soul singer Frankie Pierre in 56 episodes of EastEnders between 1996 and 1997.
