Six Nations 2016: England add Matt Kvesic and Josh Beaumont to training squad ahead of Italy match
Matt Kvesic and Josh Beaumont have been added to the England training squad ahead of the second Six Nations championship match against Italy in Rome on Sunday (14 February). The pair were released back to their respective clubs in the week of the Scotland match but are both in contention to feature in the Italian capital this weekend.
Gloucester flanker Kvesic, 23, had previously won two England caps on the tour to Argentina in 2013. Beaumont – son of Rugby Football Union chairman Bill Beaumont who was capped 34 times by his country – won his maiden call-up to the squad under Eddie Jones and is in line to follow his father into international rugby.
Kvesic and Beaumont join the 25-man squad that travelled to Edinburgh for the win over Scotland, after the team came through the 15-9 victory at Murrayfield unscathed. The group includes uncapped pair Maro Itoje and Elliot Daly, both of whom were overlooked for inclusion in the matchday 23. Coach Jones will confirm his squad for the game in Italy at 6pm on 9 February.
