Sky News chief political correspondent drew sniggers when he swore after being interrupted by Big Ben during a live news report.

Jon Craig was reporting on David Cameron's visit to Brussels to meet with EU leaders when he lost his composure.

He groaned: "Oh f****** hell" as he looked back at the iconic clock and London landmark in frustration.

The camera then moved back to an equally shocked newsreader who apologised for the clanger and quickly moved on to the next news item.

It is not the first time Craig has sworn on television. The most memorable occasion was when he unintentionally called Jeremy Hunt a c*** s last year.

He muddled his consonants during a report over the government's treatment of Rupert Murdoch's News International, following the phone hacking scandal.
