Skyfall Premiere: Prince Charles and Camilla Attend Star-Studded Event
Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall were at the world premiere of the newest James Bond film, Skyfall, at the Royal Albert Hall, along with the cast and crew of the film. The Prince of Wales wore a black tuxedo, while the Duchess looked elegant in a floor-length, violet gown.
The all-star cast, including Daniel Craig, Dame Judi Dench, Javier Bardem and Bond girls Naomie Harris and Berenice Marlohe, were present as well. Skyfall is the 23rd Bond film and Craig's third year as secret agent 007. Skyfall also marks 50 years of the James Bond franchise. Craig wore a Tom Ford suit and was accompanied by his wife, Rachel Weisz, to the premiere and he admitted to being awed by the occasion.
"It's incredible," Craig, 44, explained, adding, "This is my third premiere and this is the biggest and the best. It was the 50th year so we had try and celebrate that. Sam and I are huge Bond fans and we wanted to make the best Bond movie we could, and he's done a tremendous job."
Meanwhile, Weisz, 42, the star of the Mummy series of fantasy-adventure films with Brendan Fraser, turned out in a pale pink, floor-length Chanel gown. French actress Marlohe, 33, who plays the role of Severine, wore a red Vivienne Westwood piece and opted for simple make-up... smoky two-tone eyes, a wispy hairdo and Stephen Webster earrings.
Harris was equally stunning in a 2012 Marios Schwab Spring collection, combined with black Nicholas Kirkwood heels and Jessica McCormack's 'Serif' earrings. The 36 year old English actress completed the look with slicked-back hair.
"Eve is bad a**e. She thinks she's a match for Bond at the beginning of the movie at least," Harris said, adding, "I don't remember the first time I watched a Bond movie as I grew up watching them - this one could be my favourite though."
Meanwhile, other celebrities at the event included 2012 X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos, television host Dermot O'Leary, musicians JLS, Emeli Sande and Paloma Faith, London Olympics 2012 athletes Victoria Pendleton, Ellie Simmonds, Louis Smith and Jonnie Peacock and actors Christopher Lee, Colin Salmon and Sean Bean, all from previous Bond films.
The royal family has a close association with James Bond and Daniel Craig. The Queen starred in a video with the Chester-born Craig, which was aired at the opening ceremony for the London Olympics 2012. She has also been two other premieres - Die Another Day (2002; Pierce Brosnan as Bond) and Casino Royale (2006; Craig as Bond).
