Son stabs father in the neck after he insisted on DIY circumcision
The 20-year-old was angry at his dad that refused to take him to an urologist, police documents show.
A man has allegedly stabbed his father in the neck because he was angry about his dad wanting to circumcise him.
Alex Fultz, 20, of Florida, approached his dad with the knife and stabbed him as he slept on the couch of their home.
In police documents seen by Local 10 News, Fultz told investigators he was angry at his father for wanting to "cut the foreskin" of his penis, fearing it would hurt.
After Fultz refused, he claimed his father would not listen to him and would not take him to an urologist to have the procedure done there instead.
He stabbed his dad on 20 November, before dropping the knife and fleeing.
His father was flown to Jackson South Community Hospital to be treated for his wounds, where he is expected to survive, although it is unclear how severe his injuries are, according to CBS News.
Police said officers later saw Fultz walking towards them. As he approached with his hands raised in the air, he said to officers, "Don't shoot. Don't shoot," according to the report, adding, "I'm the one who stabbed my dad."
He was arrested and charged with attempted felony murder. Police later confirmed Fultz had been diagnosed as schizophrenic, bipolar and autistic. He was being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, in Miami.
