Sony Xperia Z1 Expected to Get Android 4.4 KitKat in Early February
Android 4.4 to include several improvements
Even as Sony has just kicked off the Android 4.3 upgrade for its Xperia line, rumours are doing the rounds that Android 4.4 KitKat is coming for the devices, starting with company's camera smartphone, Xperia Z1.
Along with the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean roll-out schedule, Sony in November announced the first set of Xperia devices to receive Android 4.4 including the Xperia Z, the Xperia ZL, the Xperia Tablet Z, the Xperia Z Ultra and the Xperia Z1. But the manufacturer did not mention the time frame for the update roll-out.
The latest disclosure from Android SaS claims that Sony is quite close to launching Android 4.4 for the Xperia Z1, which is expected as early as the first week of February.
The KitKat update will reportedly bring various system changes to the Xperia Z1. These include change in UI, camera and battery STAMINA mode improvement. Besides, the update will bring overall improvement in terms of performance.
Sony seeded Android 4.3 software with build number 14.2.A.0.290 for the Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra last December.
The latest Jelly Bean build brings a host of changes and improvements, including Project Butter performance, UI optimisation and smoother graphical experience, bootloader camera bug fix, one-hand keyboard setting, Sony Smart Camera app for Xperia Z Ultra and many more.
