South Africa take on Sri Lanka in the second Super 10 fixture of the 2014 ICC T20 World Cup at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chittagong on Saturday.

Overview

South Africa embark on their T20 World Cup campaign having registered back-to-back victories against Bangladesh A and Pakistan in the warm-up matches earlier in the week.

Against Bangladesh A, they sent the home team packing for 116 runs in the opening innings and clinched the game scoring 122 runs having lost five wickets.

In their previous fixture, the Proteas's bowlers wrapped up Pakistan for just 71 runs in the opening innings and went on to achieve their target of 72 runs in 14 overs losing two wickets in the process.

Sri Lanka prepare for Saturday's fixture on the back of a defeat against defending champions West Indies in the warm-up games.

Darren Sammy's side scored 172 runs against 2012 T20 World Cup runners-up in the first innings but the Lankans failed to mount a successful challenge and collapsed scoring just 139 runs.

In their first warm-up fixture, Sri Lanka ousted India by five runs last Monday. They left a target of 154 for India to chase but dismissed all their batsmen for 148.

Both teams will be eager to kick-start their campaign on a stronger note while Sri Lanka will be keen to go one better off their disappointment against West Indies in 2012.
