Southampton host Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday, 19 November, with Claude Puel looking to bounce back after taking only a single point from their last three games. Meanwhile, Liverpool are top of the table and will look to extend their lead with a win at the St Mary's.

Where to watch

Kick-off is set for 3pm GMT. Highlights of the game will be available on BBC Match of the Day on BBC One from 10.30pm GMT.

Overview

Southampton will be boosted by the presence of Dusan Tadic, who has been cleared to play despite breaking his nose against England in the World Cup qualifier last week. The Saints have fallen off the pace in the last few games and are likely to be without Shane Long and Ryan Bertrand, who are both recovering from injuries.

The Saints have been particularly good at home this season and their 2-0 loss to Chelsea two matchdays ago is their first in 10 home games over the course of the last two seasons. This is the first time that Southampton will be faced against former player Sadio Mane, who transferred to Liverpool last summer and has been in brilliant form over the course of the season. They will be boosted by their recent performance against Manchester City and have to emulate the same work ethic if they are to take anything from the fixture.

Liverpool will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the table, currently one point ahead of Chelsea, as they look to end their 25-year wait without the title. Jurgen Klopp's men have been the showstoppers of the Premier League this season and come into the game on the back of a 6-1 demolition of Watford at Anfield. They are unbeaten in their last nine games, picking up seven wins and two draws in the process.

The Reds will be without Adam Lallana, who picked up an injury in the international break but have received a boost in the form of Philippe Coutinho, who has returned from the break in prime shape. The Brazilian has scored thrice in his last four visits to the St Mary's and will be looking to put in a marker again.

What managers say

Claude Puel: "[On Charlie Austin] Charlie is a clinical player. He's efficient in front of goal, and it's important for the squad. He's also scored many penalties. But I hope other players can score also. It's important other players have the possibility to score: offensive midfielders, defenders from free-kicks. We have a statistic: we are third (in) the number of chances every game, and the least efficient (in converting chances into goals)."

Jurgen Klopp: "We can't be the same team we were before the international break. When we play our best then we are much more difficult to play against than Southampton can imagine. But for this one, I don't know. I haven't seen all my players until now. The Brazilian players (Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino) only got back on Wednesday night."
