Jose Mourinho takes his men to Portugal as Chelsea face Sporting in the Group G clash of the Champions League at Estadio Jose Alvalade on Tuesday evening.
Where to Watch
Kick-off is set for 7:45pm BST. Live coverage is on Sky Sports 5 and Sky Sports 5 HD. Radio commentary of the match will be available on BBC Radio 5 Live.
Overview
Sporting come into this game after their last league fixture against FC Porto ended in a 1-1 draw. Defender Jonathan Cristian Silva had given Marco Silva's side an early lead in the second minute, only for the goal to be cancelled by Mouhamado-Naby Sarr's own goal just after the start of the second half.
In the opening Group G Champions League clash against NK Maribor away from the home, the match ended in a 1-1 draw. The Portuguese outfit's form has not been disappointing as they have five 1-1 draws in the last seven matches played in all competitions.
Silva would be hoping for a win in front of his home fans when they take on the Premier League leaders on Tuesday evening.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are enjoying a great run in the league. In the last league fixture, the Blues put three past Aston Villa to extend their lead at the top of the table. Their star player Diego Costa has been in fine form for the west London club.
However, the Brazil-born Spain international did not start Chelsea's first Champions League tie against Schalke as Mourinho started with Didier Drogba. The game ended in a 1-1 draw as all four teams from Group G have just one point after the opening week of the Champions League.
The former Real Madrid manager would be hoping to choose his team for the midweek Champions League carefully as he will also focus on the weekend's big game against Arsenal.
What Managers Say
Marco Silva: "Of course we wanted to win the three points [against Porto] We have already placed against Benfica and Porto and they haven't played each other yet, so we have a chance to pick up points. However, I don't want to focus on that. We are on the right track and where we are in the league won't get in the way of that."
Jose Mourinho: "I don't care about Diego's goals. For me it's important that the team score enough goals to win. I know a striker scoring goals is always nice for him and for his confidence, especially for a player like him who is not training as he should, because we are protecting him in certain situations."
