Lucasfilm released the first trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi at a panel at Star Wars Celebration in Orlando and revealed several spoilers about Rey and Luke Skywalker's relationship in the upcoming movie's plot.

Daisy Ridley who plays Ray in Star Wars 8 spoke about her character's first meeting with Luke. She said: "I can tell you some things. We go deeper into Rey's story and what is very apparent from where we left off in The Force Awakens...is Rey has a certain expectation in what she might get from Luke and what that might entail and as people know, it's difficult when you meet your heroes because it's not quite what you expect."

Teasing more about their first meeting, the 25-year-old revealed that "Luke's first words" is what she's most excited about for The Last Jedi.

Ridley also spoke to MTV about Luke and Rey's not so harmonious relationship in the movie. She explained, "I think not harmonious, I think it's just that thing of... there were all these expectations on Luke right from the beginning, this is your calling, this is your thing, this is what you have to do, you have to train.. I think clearly something has taken him away."

Drawing similarities between the Jedi master and Rey, the actress noted, "Much like Rey, there is all these expectations on her and this is your calling and you should be this things and go save the galaxy by giving this thing to Luke. So in a way they are kind of both similar, she is very much looking up to him and to be this thing that she thinks he is and a long time has passed so."

Later Ridley dished on Rey's parentage and revealed if she was surprised when she found out. The Force Awakens actress told MTV: "The one thing I have seen, cause I did some ADR last week, was a little clip of something I didn't know was going to happen in it and I was like, 'Oh wow, okay.' I think quite a few questions people have are answered in this."

Previously, Director Rian Johnson also revealed whether fans will discover who Rey's parents are in The Last Jedi. Johnson told Good Morning America, "It's something that is absolutely going to be addressed... The other part of it is there are lots of surprises in this movie and lots of twists and turns, and I really want people to experience those when they see the movie for the first time. How we address that and how you feel about it and what happens with that is one of them."

Star Wars: The Last Jedi will hit theatres on 15 December.
