Star Wars: Disney developing a new trilogy on Obi-Wan and Luke Skywalker's story post Revenge of the Sith?
Rumours of Disney developing a new Star Wars trilogy centred around Obi-Wan Kenobi surfaced in 2014 and have been circulating the web ever since. But a latest report weighs in on the rumours, providing some key details on the alleged trilogy-in-development.
According to Schmoes Know, Disney is in talks with Ewan McGregor to return as Obi-Wan Kenobi in what might be a trilogy of Star Wars Anthology movies. Apparently, they're talking to him "not to be a force ghost, but for a post-Episode III [Revenge of the Sith] Kenobi".
The reports adds that, "the film (or films) would focus on Obi-Wan's adventures between the two trilogies as he watches over a maturing Luke Skywalker. The film(s) would be standalone adventure(s), with the possibility of characters like Owen Lars and Darth Maul appearing".
However, do note that no official statements or announcements have been made regarding any such project. Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm in 2012 sparked several rumours about various Star Wars spinoff movies being developed by the studio - including a standalone Han Solo movie.
With the studio launching the Star Wars Anthology movies with the upcoming, Star Wars: Rogue One, it's possible that the Obi-Wan movie(s) might just happen.
