Steven Universe return date: The gang of Crystal Gems will return for weekly episodes
Steven Universe is one of the much-loved shows on Cartoon Network but it is equally unpopular for taking long breaks and making its fans wait until its return. But fans of the show are in for some major treat by the channel that has renewed the show for three more seasons.
But this is not the only good news for fans of the Crystal Gems as the series will run weekly episodes instead of multiple episodes in a single week (also referred as Steven Bomb by show creator Rebecca Sugar). Though Cartoon Network is yet to reveal the premiere date for season 3, EW confirmed that the show will return on TV in June.
The theme of season 3 will be known as Summer of Steven and weekly episodes will be aired until August, the report said.
Like Adventure Time, Steven Universe too has a huge fan following and narrates the life of a young boy who is half human and half crystal. In the series, he and his three magical humanoid alien friends, Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl go on different adventures to save the world.
Although there is no information about how the show will proceed in the next season, a leaked clip of the upcoming episode reveals a scene featuring Lapis Lazuli and Peridot where the Homeworld Gem will save Steven and Lapiz from a spaceship.
Another leaked video of the upcoming episode also reveals a huge showdown between Malachite and Alexandrite. The show is reintroducing some of its scary characters and fans may get to see cliff-hanger episodes to maintain the show's momentum.
