Overview
Stoke City welcome title contenders Manchester City to the Britannia Stadium for a midweek Premier League clash. The Potters are looking to do the double on the champions after they beat them 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium earlier in the season.
Stoke come into this game on the back of a four game unbeaten run and will want to continue their dominance over the big teams at home. Peter Crouch, who came off the bench to score a last minute equaliser against Newcastle United in the precious game could start and partner Mame Diouf, they also have Arnautovic, who has returned to the squad.
Meanwhile, Manchester City come into this game on the back of a poor run of form, which has seen them go winless in five games. It also includes the humiliating 2-0 defeat at the hands of Middlesbrough in the FA Cup.
Manuel Pellegrini's men have failed to find the back of the net on a consistent basis, with Sergio Aguero suffering a slight dip in form in recent games. The manager is under pressure to get their campaign back on track, as Chelsea are already seven points ahead in the title race.
The Cityzens are also without Yaya Toure and new signing Wilfried Bony, who are yet to return from Africa Cup of Nations duty.
What managers say
Mark Hughes: "It would be great to do the double over them, we had a real positive result and performance last time. We're looking forward to it, there's a bit of criticism against them because they have played teams most people thought they'd overcome."
Manuel Pellegrini: "With as many points as we have dropped it will be more difficult, but this time we hope we are going to win against Stoke," he said. "This season I think we have played better away than we have done at home, because we have dropped too many points here at home. So I hope that at Stoke we can score and start winning again."
