Stourbridge murder: Daniel Jones in court charged with killing 59-year-old man
A Stourbridge man has been charged with murder after the body of a man was found in a flat on New Year's Day. Unemployed Daniel Jones, 33, from Forge Road, was due to appear at Dudley magistrates' court on 4 January after being arrested at his home on 1 January.
Police were called to the flat just after 7pm by a concerned neighbour. Officers forced the door open but nothing could be done to save the 59-year-old – named locally as Paul – who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detective Inspector Martin Slevin said it appeared the offence happened inside the flat and a forensic post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
Detectives continue to appeal for information to help them determine the circumstances surrounding the man's death and are asking anyone who can assist the investigation to call them on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
