Super Mario Run opens for pre-registration on Android smartphones
Samsung and other Android smartphone owners will be notified when the game hits Google's app store.
Nintendo's iconic plumber will soon be running and jumping his way to Android smartphones as Super Mario Run opens for pre-registration on Google's app store. Users can now sign up to be notified when Nintendo's latest mobile outing arrives on the Play Store, some two weeks after the game arrived on Apple devices.
Super Mario Run launched on the iPhone and iPad on 15 December. Nintendo's mobile platformer marks the first time its plumbing stalwart has appeared on smartphones in an official capacity and is Nintendo's first real attempt at cracking the lucrative mobile gaming market.
The auto-running game is free to download, although that only gives players access to three levels. The full game consists of three modes: the single-player base experience World Tour, competitive mode Toad Rally and the self-explanatory Kingdom Builder game mode.
Nintendo hasn't given a firm date for when Super Mario Run will arrive on Android but its appearance on Google's Play Store suggests that it is not far off. You can sign up to be notified when Mario lands by pre-registering here.
