TV Line reports that the series is expected to introduce a twin before the end of season 1 and the popular bet is on Melissa Benoist's character. Supergirl episode 9 Blood Bonds will air on 4 January at 8pm ET on CBS. However, you can watch the previous episode live online on the official website of CBS by clicking here. In episode 8, Astra was captured by the Department of Extranormal Operations (DEO). She later tries to confuse Kara by influencing her against her mother Alura. However, Benoist's character will not fall in the trap and continue her efforts to save Lord Technologies from the evil couple.

Warning: Spoilers ahead

Episode 9 titled Blood Bonds will reveal the outcome of the fight between the two Kryptonians. The synopsis of the episode suggests that Non will have the upper hand in the battle and will kidnap Hank.

The official synopsis of the upcoming episode reads: With Astra in captivity at the DEO, her husband, Non (Chris Vance), captures Hank, leading to a tense standoff between the two sides. Also, Kara continues to refute Cat's allegations that she is Supergirl.

The upcoming episode will also feature some flashbacks about Astra and Non's trial on the planet Krypton and it remains to be seen as to how the revelations will impact Kara.

"When we come back, the declaration of war between the DEO and Astra and Non's forces is in full effect. Also, at the end of episode 8, Cat figures out that Kara is Supergirl, so they're dealing with both the comedy of the emotion and the drama of that story in episode 9," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told EW.

He also teased that Supergirl will go through a lot of emotional stress after learning the truth about her mother. "She's really lost," he says, adding that "as you start to live your life, you realize that your parents didn't always have the answers. It's a further step in Kara's own journey as a hero and everyone's maturation as we become adults and become our parents."
