Supergirl season 2 premiere date: Tyler Hoechlin teases Superman's 'sense of humor'
The CW has released the premiere date for its new series Supergirl season 2. Melissa Benoist's Kara Danvers will make her debut as the female superhero on 10 October on The CW. Supergirl has moved from CBS to The CW for season 2.
Recently, the Network announced that Teen Wolf actor Tyler Hoechlin will play Superman/Clark Kent in Supergirl season 2. Hoechlin spoke to the Daily Mail about his Man of Steel role while promoting his latest film Everybody Wants Some.
Teasing Superman's sense of humour, Hoechlin said, "I never try to compare and contrast performances because it's such an iconic character already. Superman is Superman so I'm just going to try to carry on the tradition of that and play that part. I think the fun is going to be finding where Clark Kent is in this world. I'm just excited to find out Clark's sense of humor."
Previously, Supergirl showrunner Andrew Kreisberg said in a statement, "[Executive producer] Greg [Berlanti] and I have wanted to work with Tyler for ages, so this worked out perfectly because Tyler is Superman. We are so thrilled and humbled to add another amazing actor to the legacy of this iconic character."
The iconic character of Superman will first be seen visiting his cousin Kara in National City in the opening episodes of Supergirl season 2. Superman made his presence felt in the show's pilot episode but his face is never shown. The Man of Steel appeared as a silhouette to save Kara from Reactron in episode 3, and again, Daniel DiMaggio played the younger version of Superman in episode 13 of then CBS show.
