Superman actor Henry Cavill addresses Justice League reshoots and 'moustache fiasco' on Instagram
'It is time to finally set the record straight in this moustache fiasco,' wrote Cavill.
Superman actor Henry Cavill grew a moustache for his role in Mission: Impossible 6, but according to reports, it has created complications for the Justice League reshoots, wherein his character sports a clean-shaved look.
Earlier, reports claimed that his commitment to the Impossible Impossible movie was preventing Cavill from shaving the moustache, which is creating issues with Justice League reshoots.
The actor himself took to Instagram to hilariously address the moustache fiasco with a snap from the movie set.
He captioned the post saying, "Dear followers, It is time to finally set the record straight in this moustache fiasco. Pictured above, is not a set on MI6 but is, in fact, the latest in a series of weapons being designed by Warner Bros and Paramount Studios to combat the entity known as "Henry Cavill's Moustache". "
He continued, "There has been no discussion over whether to shave or not to shave for the JL [Justice League] reshoots, simply a relentless campaign to put an end to the seemingly inexorable conquest of this despotic 'stache"
He concluded his post on a sarcastic note, saying, "It is not a question of IF I should shave - it is a question of how can we possibly be victorious against such a beast without bringing our own doom raining down upon us."
The 34-year-old used several hashtags at the end to make his point convincing. "#MI6 #JusticeLeague #HenryCavillsMoustache #HopeIsAllWeHaveLeft #MoustacheImpossible."
Earlier a report in Variety claimed that Paramount has refused to allow Cavill to shave, to prevent delays in the production of M:I6, and Warner Bros are allegedly planning to digitally remove the actor's moustache in post-production, which could cost a sizable sum.
Justice League starring Jason Momoa, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller and Ray Fisher - releases in theatres on 17 November.
