Supernatural season 11 plot: Will John Winchester return to fight 'darkness' alongside Sam and Dean?
Fans may get to see the return of John Winchester when Supernatural returns with season 11.
Dean and Sam's father, John Winchester, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, was last scene in season 2, where he sacrificed himself to save Dean's life, and later his spirit helped close the gates of hell.
Supernatural has a history of bringing characters back from the dead, and actor Morgan himself admitted that he will be happy to make a return on the show.
Morgan told Collider, I [recently] was in London with Jensen [Ackles] and Jared [Padalecki]. I absolutely would love to go back. I haven't been on the show for 10 years, and I get asked about it in every interview and every time I leave my house."
"The show has been on the air for 10 years now, and I haven't done it for 10 years. They want me back. I do this so that I can make people happy somehow. We do it for our fans, and that's got such a great fan base that, of course, I want to go back. And I would love to have some resolution for that character and his sons," he added.
The actor further said that his return will pave way for a proper goodbye to John Winchester.
He claimed, "I'm proud of them and I would love to go back and work with them again, if the opportunity comes. But in saying that, I don't want it to be a forced deal. I want it to be natural, and I want it to make sense for the story. I would love for John Winchester to have some way to say goodbye, not only to his sons, but to the fan base who seems to be clamoring for him to come back. "
The season 10 finale left Sam, Dean, Castiel and Crowley in a dire situation. The Winchester brothers are enveloped by darkness, and the angel is struggling to fight Rowena's guard dog spell that compels him to kill the King of Hell, in the episode titled My Brother's Keeper.
John Winchester might return to help Dean and Sam deal with "darkness" and thereby give fans some more father-son bonding scenes.
