Swansea City vs Manchester City, Premier League 2014/15: Where to watch live, preview, betting odds and possible XI
Swansea City host Manchester City in a game that can play a massive role in deciding a place for a top two spot.
Where to Watch Live
Kick-off is set for 1:30pm BST. Live coverage of the game will be on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 1 HD. Catch the highlights of the game on Match of the Day 2 on BBC One and BBC One HD at 10:30pm BST.
Overview
Swansea come into the game having lost only once in their last six games and including a win over Arsenal in their last fixture at the Emirates. Gary Monk's team dug deep and secured a vital win over the Gunners as they kept their hopes alive of securing a Europa League spot next season.
Bafetimbi Gomis' header in the final five minutes completed a double over the Gunners, who were on a 10 game unbeaten run and a similar result here will allow Arsene Wenger's men to pip City to a top two finish with a win over Manchester United.
Monk has proved that he has the credentials to motivate his team at the highest level and with a few enhancements next season, should be able to forge a squad which can emulate the likes of Southampton next season.
Meanwhile, City need to win their next two games to finish in the top four, irrespective of Arsenal's results, given they currently hold a plus nine goal difference over the Gunners in the league. However, a loss will pass the baton back to Arsenal to grasp the opportunity against United, who have not been in great form themselves.
However, their six goal thriller against QPR, on the back of a brilliant hattrick from Sergio Aguero should calm a few nerves, among the travelling fans, who have seen their team go from challenging from the title to struggle to secure a top four spot.
What Managers Say
Gary Monk: "Wilfried has got more than enough quality to be a very important player for Manchester City."You only have to look at what he did here, he was the top Premier League goal scorer during 2014 and that is no fluke. Any player, no matter who you are, takes time to settle into a new environment."
Manuel Pellegrini: "It's important to have this clear - we didn't bring Bony just for this year. We bought him because he's a very good player, an important striker."Maybe it was a difficult start for him here mainly because of his injury. Maybe he's not playing the amount of minutes he must play but I'm sure he'll be a very important player next season."
