Swedish national team promise to smooth Zlatan Ibrahimovic's Manchester United move
Sweden coach Erik Hamren has suggested he will allow Zlatan Ibrahimovic to leave the national team squad to secure his transfer to Manchester United. The 34-year-old, who is currently preparing for Euro 2016, is thought to be on the cusp of completing his much-anticipated move to Old Trafford.
Hamren explained that there is a gap in Sweden's preparations before the start of the tournament in France that would allow Ibrahimovic to complete the formalities of his move. The coach said he would have no qualms with the Swede flying to England over the next few days.
"We have days off. We plan our activities and the players can act based on that," Hamren said in response to Ibrahmovic's expected transfer to United, according to Reuters.
Ibrahimovic is thought to be attracted to the idea of reuniting with his former Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho at United. The Swede has previously spoken of his admiration for the Premier League-winning manager.
"We worked together for one year at Inter. The feeling was great between us and my only regret is that we were together for only one year," the United transfer target explained in 2015.
