Overview

Defending champions Sri Lanka and South Africa have been eliminated from the T20 World Cup after the Lankans suffered a 10-run defeat at the hands of England on 26 March. The Three Lions have six points after four matches, four points ahead of Sri Lanka and South Africa. With both teams having managed just one win so far in the tournament – which came against Afghanistan – their campaign in the T20 World Cup in India has come to a disappointing end. After England's latest win over Sri Lanka, they have joined West Indies to qualify for the semi-finals.

Monday's clash between Sri Lanka and South Africa will have little significance. Had England lost to Angelo Mathews's side, then the winner of the match between these two teams would have made it to the last four.
