Talk Talk announce Q1 revenue growth; shares fall on FTSE 250
Talk Talk have announced £444 million up 31 pct on last year for the first quarter to June after integrating Tiscali's 1.3-1.4 million customers. Shares in the company have reacted by falling 1.20 pence to 122.10 at 10:00 am BST.
The broadband and telecom group which was launched by Carphone Warehouse and subsequently demerged and spun off after acquiring Tiscali in June 2009.
"I regard this as a very solid performance; we maintained our momentum in the broadband market, as our brand and tariffs continued to appeal to customers seeking straight-forward, value-for-money broadband and voice services." said Charles Dunstone, Chairman of Talk Talk, who advised that work to integrate Tiscali's customers were well on track to deliver 'synergies identified' and full year guidance.
Now, the company faces an uphill battle with Sky TV and Virgin Media to deliver Project Canvas where it is working with major channels, BBC, ITV and Channel 4 and Five to deliver 'an open internet-connected TV platform' alongside BT.
Net additions meanwhile were 34,000 whilst B2B revenue, £87 million, was also increased.
