Taraji P Henson shares first look at Lucious and Cookie in Empire season 4 and fans are thrilled
Empire season 4 returns to Fox on 27 September at 8pm EST.
Empire star Taraji P Henson took to social media to share the first look at the Lyon family, including Lucious, Jamal, Hakeem and Andre, in season 4 and fans are more than thrilled.
Henson, who plays the fierce Cookie in the Fox series, posted the official poster of Empire season 4 on Instagram, featuring Jussie Smollett (Jamal), Trai Byers (Andre), Bryshere Y Gray (Hakeem) and Terrence Howard (Lucious).
"#FamilyFirst #TheLyons#Empire see y'all soon!!!" she captioned the Instagram post. Fans are thrilled to see their favourite Lyon family in the official poster and took to the comment section to share their excitement.
"Wow this pic is sick though. Taraji killed it, as usual" a fan said. "Been waiting too long," another commented. Many said they "can't wait" for the show to begin. "I have withdrawal symptoms I love this show," one user said.
"You guys are the bomb. Stay blessed," read another comment. Most users said they were ready for new episodes of the show. "Waiting for the 4th season love empire," said one user as another noted, "I'm ready for the Lyons to come back."
The third season of Empire ended on another tragic note for the Lyon family after Lucious was caught in an explosion that was set up by his own family. Without his memory of who his family is, he relies on his caretaker (guest star Demi Moore) to get him back to health.
The hit Fox show returns with its much anticipated season on 27 September at 8pm EST and executive producers Lee Daniels revealed that the upcoming season will return to the core of the show and focus on the Lyon family and dynasty.
Daniels told Variety, "When we start to focus too much on guest stars we lose who it is that the fans want to watch. They're obsessed with the Lyons. They're obsessed with family. They're obsessed with the story of Lucious and Cookie and Jamal and Andre and Hakeem."
