Taylor Swift announces 'Lover Fest' concert dates for 2020
Taylor Swift fans are in for a surprise, as her gig at NFL stadium will make her the first woman to perform the opening concert at the stadium.
Taylor Swift on Tuesday announced the US and international performance dates for her record-breaking album "Love"' for the year 2020. These include dates of her US concerts -- Lover Fest West and Lover Fest East.
The Europe leg of her concert will kick off from Belgium on June 20 and conclude on August 1 in Massachusetts. Swifties are in for another surprise as her gig at NFL stadium will make her the first woman to perform the opening concert at the stadium.
Taylor Swift's first festival, Lover Fest West, will be held on July 25 and July 26, 2020, at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. The fest will mark the opening of the NFL stadium, making her the first woman to kick off NFL stadium's inaugural year of events. The SoFi stadium is also set to be the new home of the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers.
The fest will be followed by the Lover Fest East concert on July 31 and August 1. The 29-year-old singer will perform at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. She will perform only four shows in the United States, launching Lover Fest East (in Massachusetts) and West (in California), reports E! News.
Opening acts for Lover Fest West and Lover Fest East have not been announced yet.
Apart from the United States, the "Bad Blood" singer will perform in Belgium, Berlin, Denmark, France, Brazil, Norway, Poland and Portugal. The dates of her concerts are:
June 20: Werchter Boutique (Werchter, Belgium)
June 24: The Waldbühne (Berlin)
June 26: Oslo Sommertid (Oslo, Norway)
July 1: Roskilde Festival (Roskilde, Denmark)
July 3: Open'er Festival (Gdynia, Poland)
July 5: Festival de Nîmes (Nîmes, France)
July 9: NOS Alive (Oeiras, Portugal)
July 18: Allianz Parque (Sao Paulo, Brazil)
July 25 and 26: SoFi Stadium (Los Angeles)
July 31 and August 1: Gillette Stadium (Foxborough, Massachusetts)
The public sale of her tickets will kick off on Thursday, October 17. Swift took to Twitter to share the news
The album was released by Republic Records on August 23. "Lover" sold three million album-equivalent units within its first week of release. It was preceded by three singles, the international top-five singles "Me!" and "You Need to Calm Down", and the title track, all of which reached the top ten on the US Billboard Hot 100.
"Lover" is Swift's seventh studio album, but the first she has ever owned. While sharing the album on Twitter, the singer wrote that it is "a celebration of love, in all its complexity, coziness, and chaos".
