Taylor Swift dumped Calvin Harris by phone saying she needed 'some space'

The 26-year-old American singer apparently split with DJ Calvin Harris while he was recovering from his car crash, according to reports. A source told the celebrity news website that after the DJ's car crash, Swift pulled the plug on their 15-month relationship vaguely requesting "some space". History repeated itself after former flame Joe Jonas dumped the Bad Blood singer in a 27-second phone call back in 2008.

According to TMZ, Harris and Swift have not spoken since the break-up after the 32-year-old DJ did not take the news well as he planned to be with the 26-year-old singer for the long haul.

On Friday 17 June, news emerged online after fans saw photos of Swift kissing English actor Tom Hiddleston, just two weeks after her breakup with Harris. According to US Weekly, the We Found Love DJ was also surprised about the news.

"That was fast! It was surprising to him but he just wants to move on. He's a really good guy," an insider told magazine.

Us Weekly reports that Swift and Hiddleston, spent a long time at the Olympia Tea Room in Westerly, Rhode Island on Wednesday night.

"Tom and Taylor were... in the back left booth drinking white wine," a source told the magazine.

"They were very cute, a lot of laughing, giggling, as she showed him texts and photos on her phone."

"They were interlacing their fingers across the table and laughing," the eyewitness said, with the pair even sharing the restaurant's Avondale Swan pastry with whipped cream and fudge.

Swift's insider also told said: "They have been bonding over the industry, their childhoods, where they are from. It's the getting-to-know-you phase. Taylor is just happy to have the time to meet someone new and move on from Calvin."
