Telltale's The Walking Dead season 3 'A New Frontier' set for December premiere
Clementine returns with a new protagonist in new episodes from the undead series.
Telltale Games has announced that its third season of The Waking Dead will premiere on 20 December, with an "extended first look" airing on 1 December at The Game Awards. The game will be available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, iOS and Android devices, Xbox 360 and PS3.
The season will consist of five episodes released at unspecified intervals from the December start date, with a physical release for PS4 and Xbox One owners granting them access to the whole season due to released on 7 February. We can reasonably assume the second episode will be released around this date.
PS4 owners who pre-order now on PSN will be given the second season and spin-off The Walking Dead: Michonne for free. PC users pre-ordering through Steam get to enjoy a 10% discount.
An official synopsis was also revealed in a press release: "When family is all you have left... How far will you go to protect it? Four years after society was ripped apart by undead hands, pockets of civilisation emerge from the chaos. But at what cost?
"Can the living be trusted on this new frontier? As Javier, a young man determined to find the family taken from him, you meet a young girl who has experienced her own unimaginable loss. Her name is Clementine, and your fates are bound together in a story where every choice you make could be your last."
Telltale's first season of The Walking Dead cast players as Lee, a man who forms a protective father-daughter bond with young Clementine. In season two, players controlled Clem, and now season three is introducing a new protagonist. It's not clear, however, if players will be able to play as both Javier and Clementine.
