Tennis ace Roger Federer is no match for a court full of adorable puppies
The 8-time Wimbledon champion confessed to being 'scared of dogs' while filming a Wilson Tennis promo.
Roger Federer may be fierce on the tennis court, but it looks like we have finally found his weak spot. The eight-time Wimbledon champion was literally floored while filming a Wilson Tennis promo last week ahead of the Canadian Open in Montreal.
Federer was taken to a court where he was surrounded by a group of puppies, who took to him immediately... though we cannot say the same for the tennis ace.
"It is a dog right?" he asked apprehensively on being introduced the first furry contender. "I'm a little bit scared of dogs to be honest," he confessed before sitting on the ground to feed and play with them.
The Swiss was no match for smaller pups and did keep some distance from the friendly St Bernard. "At the end of the day I do love dogs but I just haven't spent enough time with them," he said. "We always used to have cat. With all the travelling over the last 20 years it's been impossible to have pets but we'll have a dog some day."
Federer, who celebrates his 36th birthday on 8 August, has all eyes on him and his top contender Rafael Nadal who lead the seeds at this week's Montreal Masters. Stan Wawrinka was forced to sit out the tournament along with Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray, all three of whom are recovering from injuries.
