Three grandmothers have been filmed smoking weed for the first time.

YouTube filmmakers, Apropos Nada, set up the experiment to see how the grannies from Washington would get on smoking marijuana, which has just been made legal in their state.

They said they never tried the drug before because they were too busy bringing up their families.

During the 30 minute clip the women can be seen enjoying themselves – giggling, snacking and playing Cards Against Humanity and Jenga.

Paula admits: "When I do it I feel that the muscles in my neck don't feel as tight," then later adding: "I could go iron now for days, I love to iron."

Dorothea, in hysterics replies: "I totally lost track of what you were talking about. I really don't care if I understand. It's like being drunk isn't it?"

The video, which has attracted over five million views, ends with: "No grandmas were harmed in the making of this video."

Washington legalised marijuana in 2012.
