Tom Felton is excited about Cisco's Harry Potter references in The Flash season 3
The Flash season 3 returns on 4 October at 8pm EST on The CW Network.
The first look at Tom Felton in The Flash season 3 has been revealed. The Harry Potter star will play CSI tech Julian Dorn in the third season of The CW show, and his casting will not stop the Harry Potter references in the show, especially by Cisco Ramon.
Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg spoke to Entertainment Weekly about Felton's character and teased a little "meta moment". He said, "Tom Felton is portraying a character on our show — he's not portraying Tom Felton. Cisco will continue to make pop culture references. We're, generally speaking, not afraid to have a little bit of a meta-moment."
The actor himself admitted that he is "excited" about all the Potter references to be made by Cisco in season 3. Felton said, "I'm so excited for the references. I don't doubt the talent and creativity of the writers. I've got a feeling they'll come up with some real good ones. I hadn't thought about me saying it — I assumed it would come at me from Cisco — but maybe I should give it to Cisco. Maybe he should misquote something and I could correct him."
Although Felton will not appear in episode 1 of The Flash season 3, executive producer Todd Helbing teased that Julian will act as a rival to Barry Allen. Helbing said, "He's a direct result of Flashpoint. Barry's had that lab to himself, but now he's got to share it with this guy, who doesn't really like him and is kind of prickly."
The third season of The CW show picks up with a new Flashpoint timeline and a lot of repercussions for Barry, following his decision to go back in time and save his mother in the season 2 finale. The new timeline will bring forth a lot of changes in the show — Cisco is now a billionaire, Wally West is now the Kid Flash and there is no Star Labs team.
The Flash season 3 premiere episode titled Flashpoint will air on 4 October at 8pm EST on The CW Network.
